Laundry strips or washing powder—which works better?
A laundry strip does the same thing as laundry powder: dissolves dirt, tackles odors, and cleans fibers. The difference isn’t in how it works, but in its form. Laundry powder and liquid detergent largely consist of water and fillers — that’s what makes them heavy and bulky.
A laundry strip is all of that concentrated into a thin sheet weighing just a few grams. You don’t do anything differently when doing the laundry; only the detergent looks different. The washing results are comparable for normal everyday laundry. For stubborn stains — such as motor oil or red wine — the same applies as with any detergent: pre-treating always helps.
One practical advantage of the strip that laundry powder can’t match: you can never overdose it. The strip is the dosage. If you’re used to using just a little too much laundry powder (and almost everyone does), you’ll start saving immediately.

Do laundry strips really clean as well as regular detergent?
For everyday laundry: yes. Laundry strips work in the same way as powder and liquid detergent — they dissolve dirt, grease, and odors. The difference is the packaging and weight, not how they work. For tough stains (motor oil, blood, red wine), the same advice applies as with any detergent: pre-treat them with a stain remover. The strip does the rest.
At what temperatures do the laundry strips work?
From 20 degrees. The strip dissolves as soon as it comes into contact with water—even cold water. You can simply use your regular programme: 30, 40, or 60 degrees—it all works. Washing at 30 or 40 degrees is fine for most laundry and saves energy. Washing at 60 degrees offers no added benefit for the laundry strip itself, but may be useful for bedding or towels.
How many washes are in a box?
64 washes per box — that’s 32 strips with a perforated line down the middle. Use half a strip for a small or lightly soiled load, and you’ll get more out of each box. At an average of 5 washes per week, one box lasts more than 12 weeks.
Are laundry detergent strips suitable for sensitive skin?
The fragrance-free laundry strip is made without added fragrances and is suitable for people with sensitive skin, babies, and people with eczema. The scented versions (Ocean Fresh, Floral, Fresh Linen) contain perfume—if you are sensitive to it, the fragrance-free version is the safe choice.
